The company’s history starts with a bombshell: Only a month after its formation in December 2003, Fatih Akin’s «Gegen die Wand» and «Samaria» by Kim Ki-Duk won the Golden and a Silver Bear of the 54th Berlinale. Since then the distribution catalogue increases by 10-15 new filmtitles each year. Cineworx focuses on international arthouse films, asian genre films, Swiss feature films and documentaries and on European children’s films. Essential features to garanty a successful high quality distribution programme are combined in the Cineworx team: several years of professional experience, a marketing-related way of thinking and - last but not least - a passionate affection to motion pictures.
